  • Section1

Target: All Ocean Park Conservation Alliance Member Schools (Kindergarten)

    Date: October 2025 - April 2026

In our daily life, we unconsciously generate different types of waste. Many of them can be avoided by recycling, reducing, and reusing. To motivate schools in waste reduction and recycling, the "Plastic Challenge" is promoted through Ocean Park Conservation Alliance. The launch of “SGREEN” Inter-school Recycling Competition is aiming to encourage students to practise clean recycling actively in schools and invite their family members to visit “GREEN@COMMUNITY” recycling facilities for recycling, with a view to cultivating the habits of waste reduction and recycling at home and in the community.

Member schools are encouraged to participate in SGREEN throughout the school year. To boost resources recovery, other recyclable waste, in addition to plastic, is also encouraged to be used at smart recycling devices or GREEN@COMMUNITY outlets.

Schools with outstanding achievement would be awarded with trophy.

To participate in Flagship Activity – SGREEN, member schools will have to complete the following task:

    Competition Procedure

    1. Weight and record the recyclables (plastics, cans, metals & others) either in school or in GREEN@COMMUNITY outlets
    2. Submit the recyclable quantity records once every academic term (1-12 December 2025 and 1-15 May 2026). Those records can be recyclable quantity record forms provided by contractors after on-site recycling, or the records shown in GREEN$ app after recycling at GREEN@COMMUNITY outlets by schools
    3. Submit all data on or before 15 May 2026

  • 2. Farming at School

Target: All Ocean Park Conservation Alliance Member Schools (Kindergarten / Primary / Secondary)

Date: November 2025 to March 2026

The food we consume daily comes from all over the world. During the processes of transportation, packaging, and production, a significant amount of carbon dioxide is generated, contributing to energy consumption and global warming. To reduce greenhouse gas emissions, we aim to integrate the concept of low-carbon diets into schools—such as choosing unpackaged foods, consuming local and seasonal foods, and cultivating low-carbon eating habits from an early age.

Ocean Park Conservation Alliance has launched "Farming at School ", allowing students to learn about local agriculture and practice low-carbon living through farming. The program encourages schools to promote the consumption of local food by all teachers and students, integrating the concept of "farm-to-table" into the campus. Schools are encouraged to experience growing various crops on campus and incorporate the results into various school activities, such as school picnics or Christmas parties, to enjoy the fruits of their labor.

Participating schools need to submit a photo and a description with the theme "farm-to-table" by 2 March 2026. The photos and descriptions will be uploaded to the "Mission R" Facebook page on 16 March 2026 for public voting. The top three school with the most-liked photo would be awarded.
