In our daily life, we unconsciously generate different types of waste. Many of them can be avoided by recycling, reducing, and reusing. To motivate schools in waste reduction and recycling, the "Plastic Challenge" is promoted through Ocean Park Conservation Alliance. The launch of “SGREEN” Inter-school Recycling Competition is aiming to encourage students to practise clean recycling actively in schools and invite their family members to visit “GREEN@COMMUNITY” recycling facilities for recycling, with a view to cultivating the habits of waste reduction and recycling at home and in the community.

To motivate schools in waste reduction and recycling, the "Plastic Challenge" is promoted through Ocean Park Conservation Alliance. This year, we collaborate with the Environmental Protection Department (EPD) to launch “SGREEN x We-recycle@School Inter-school Recycling Competition", aiming to encourage students to practise clean recycling actively in schools and invite their family members to visit “GREEN@COMMUNITY” recycling facilities for recycling, with a view to cultivating the habits of waste reduction and recycling at home and in the community.

Target: All Ocean Park Conservation Alliance Member Schools (Kindergarten / Primary / Secondary)
Date: November 2025 to March 2026
The food we consume daily comes from all over the world. During the processes of transportation, packaging, and production, a significant amount of carbon dioxide is generated, contributing to energy consumption and global warming. To reduce greenhouse gas emissions, we aim to integrate the concept of low-carbon diets into schools—such as choosing unpackaged foods, consuming local and seasonal foods, and cultivating low-carbon eating habits from an early age.
Ocean Park Conservation Alliance has launched "Farming at School ", allowing students to learn about local agriculture and practice low-carbon living through farming. The program encourages schools to promote the consumption of local food by all teachers and students, integrating the concept of "farm-to-table" into the campus. Schools are encouraged to experience growing various crops on campus and incorporate the results into various school activities, such as school picnics or Christmas parties, to enjoy the fruits of their labor.
Participating schools need to submit a photo and a description with the theme "farm-to-table" by 2 March 2026. The photos and descriptions will be uploaded to the "Mission R" Facebook page on 16 March 2026 for public voting. The top three school with the most-liked photo would be awarded.
To participate in flagship activity - "Farming at School ", member schools will have to conduct the following items:
- the results or current status of the crops grown on campus
- the source of the crops and how they are utilized
- how the activity promotes the consumption of local food by the entire school
3. Photos and descriptions submitted by participating schools will be uploaded to the "Mission R" Facebook page at 12:00 PM on 16 March 2026 for public voting. The voting period will end on 23 March 2026 at 4:00 PM
4. The top three school with the most-liked photo would be awarded (top three in each division – Kindergarten / Primary / Secondary)
